The biopic documents the rise of Bal Thackeray from a cartoonist to one of the most influential political leaders of Maharashtra. The movie will also shed some light on the birth and evolution of his political party, Shiv Sena.
The film features Nawazuddin Siddiqui as the Shiv Sena supremo. The National Award-winning actor says the anger and arrogance of the late Shiv Sena supremo was justified when Maharashtra was going through a bad phase.
The film will focus on Thackeray's 'struggles and fights'.
Actress Amrita Rao dons the role of Meena Tai Thackeray and it involved an age transformation from a teenager to a 60-year-old lady.
It will be released in Hindi, Marathi, and English languages.
