It was a disappointing news for all Mammootty fans soon after news surfaced online that his upcoming movie Thoppil Joppan has been temporarily stayed from releasing.
Talking to Onmanorama about the issue, producer Noushad Alathoor confirmed that the movie will release as scheduled. ''I don't really know anything about Shibu, who lodged a complaint alleging that I have taken money from him. The complete responsibility as a producer lays upon me and how can someone else take the credit for it," said Noushad.
''I don't think there is going to be any problem with regard to the release of the movie and the case will be sidelined,'' added Noushad.
Earlier, the release of the movie was temporarily stayed by the Ernakulam district court following a petition filed by Shibu Thekumparan. As per the petition filed in court, Abdul Nazar, the producer of the movie had sold the copyright of the movie to Shibu for Rs 25 lakh. However, he claimed there was an infringement of copyright which led him to approach the court.
