It seems the stigma associated with divorce is still alive and well. Well, how else can you justify actor Amala Paul being targeted by vicious trolls for no apparent reason ever since her divorce with director A.L. Vijay was announced.
In fact, whatever Amala did after her divorce announcement was scrutinized and criticized. She became everyone’s Aunt Sally in no time and was judged for her ‘sexy’ outfits. Some even had a problem that she was partying too much instead of mourning her marriage.
Recently, the actress had posted a picture in which she was seen hugging a guy on her Instagram and the warriors of tradition on social media were quick to pour scorn on it. While some of them said it’s her new boyfriend, there were a few who were convinced that the duo had started dating even before her divorce.
However, Amala appears to be taking it in stride and is in no way affected by the social media backlash against her. The actor has clarified that the man in the photo was her good old friend, Ajith Menon. Apparently, Amala was in Kerala to attend his wedding and the photo was taken then.
Come on guys, give her a break.
