A star wedding – between cine and serial actors Ambili Devi and Adityan – is the talk of the town for the last couple days. Wishes are coming in, but so are the abuses, cyberattacks and controversies. Some even go to the extent of calling Aditya a conman who has married thrice before!
A video of Ambili’s ex-husband, cameraman Lowel, celebrating with a cake on the sets triggered more speculations on social media. We spoke to the couple who revealed their wedding story which has more twists than a TV serial. Ambili and Adityan talk about their career and the current controversies.
Are you really a scamster? Four weddings within the age of 38, Adityan?
My dear friend, It’s just a rumour. I have been married once before, that’s it. That, however, ended quite quickly. She was a famous serial actor. I married again after the first one ended over difference of opinion. Ambili and her family know about this. The current controversies are mere creation of some with malafide intent.
I have kept quite till now. But if attacked again, I will reveal the truth with proof. That will expose the real face of those behind the rumours. Ambili walked into my life as a support when I needed it most. Why all this attacks and unsubstantiated allegations when I have just kept to myself? It’s with great pain that I defend myself. Again, I haven’t married four times.
I lost peace since 2013. My first wife left me after harassment from her side wrecked my life. Then I got an alliance from Kannur. Only after a verbal agreement I realised that there were some problems in it. So I backed out. But a case was registered against me alleging embezzlement of cash and gold. The courts let me free realising it was a false case. Someone is trying to frame me despite all that. Will someone like Ambili Devi or her family agree to an alliance had I been that bad?
How did you meet Ambili?
We have acted together in our early years a lot. In fact, I was her first pair. She was unique and everyone liked her. She used to be quiet on the sets. I couldn’t reveal my love for her then. Soon Lowel, a good friend of mine, entered her life.
She used to discuss the marital issues between them with me. Ambili could conceive only with medical help. She had her own share of problems in that marriage. They parted ways knowing very well that these differences could not be ironed out. So this cake and celebration are all humbug – an effort to put the blame squarely on Ambili. We began our life together expecting all this. So they don’t matter to us.
We went for a dance programme straight from our wedding venue. We celebrated our son’s birthday together the other day. Malayalis respect the actor and dancer in Ambili. I will always be there to support her. These allegations and controversies are a result of personal enmity. We choose to ignore it. I am just happy to have regained my life I thought lost.
