Coimbatore: A day after a case was registered at a Coimbatore police station against Tamil actor Silambarasan aka Simbu and music composer Anirudh Ravichander over a 'vulgar' song, the musician has come up with an explanation.
"I would like to clarify my stand on the subject of the beep song. It is neither my composition nor my lyrics and I am not the singer. Unfortunately and to my dismay, my name has been dragged into this controversy," he wrote on his social media accounts.
"I deeply regret this undesirable situation (and hereby) putting an end to all speculations regarding the same," he added.
Anirudh is now in Canada for a music concert which he said is dedicated to the flood victims in Tamil Nadu.

The song, known as 'beep song' has been bashed up by activists and commoners alike after the song found its way to the Internet. However, Simbu said that it was not him who released the song and he is not to be blamed. 'Beep song' is not a movie song, reports said.
Some members of AIDWA, led by local secretary Amuda, submitted a petition to the City Police Commissioner, A. Amalraj on Saturday, and demanded that stringent action be taken against the actor and Anirudh, police said.

Have not heard the song: Vairamuthu
Tamil poet and lyricist Vairamuthu on Sunday said that the writers and lyricists were bound with certain social responsibilities and they should create some boundary walls themselves.
Replying to a specific question on the controversial song rendered by Simbu for the music of Anirudh, which received a lot of criticism, Vairamuthu said that he has still not not heard the song.
"Without hearing, it should not be fair to comment on that," Vairamuthu told reporters on the sidelines of a private function.
However, the lyricists were bound with some social responsibilities, he said. Moreover, the songs with ideology were decreasing down of late, he said.
