Make bakery-style chocolate pastry easily at home

Chocolate pastries are loved by both the kids and adults alike. At a time when many youngsters are into baking, people like to prepare their own versions of the dessert at home too. Do you fancy joining the tribe? If so, here is how to prepare bakery-style chocolate pastries easily at home.

Ingredients
Dry ingredients
2 ¼ cups all purpose flour
1 ¼ cups powdered sugar
1 ½ tsp baking powder
½ tsp baking soda
5 tbsp coco powder
¼ tsp salt
Wet ingredients
3 eggs
¼ cup oil
½ cup milk
1 tsp vinegar
1 tsp vanilla essence
1 cup hot water
1 tsp instant coffee powder
For the frosting
80 gms dark chocolate
1 ½ + 1 ½ cups heavy cream
¾ cup powdered sugar
1 tbsp coco powder
Preparation
Mix vinegar in milk and keep aside for ten minutes
Meanwhile, mix the dry ingredients in a bowl
Sift these dry ingredients and keep aside
Take the eggs, vegetable oil and the milk – vinegar mix in another bowl
Mix well before adding vanilla essence
Mix 1 tsp instant coffee powder in 1 cup hot water
Add this into the wet ingredients
Give everything a good mix
Now slowly add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients
Fold well
Pour the batter into a 7 x 7 greased cake tin that is lined with butter paper
Tap the cake tin a few times to remove the air bubbles
Bake it in a preheated oven of 175 degree for 50 minutes
Meanwhile, to make the frosting melt the dark chocolate by adding half cup heavy cream (you could do it in the double boiling method or microwaving it for a minute)
Pour 1 ½ cups heavy cream in a bowl and beat for a minute
Into it add powdered sugar and coco powder
Beat for 2 minutes
Now add the melted chocolate
Beat for 4 – 5 minutes until the cream becomes stiff
Take out the cake only after it has cooled down completely
Cut off the even top surface of the cake
Now cut the cake into three layers
Place the first layer on a cake board
Sprinkle some sugar syrup
Spread the frosting
Repeat the layers
Keep the cake in the fridge for 3 -4 hours
Shape the edges of the cake using a sharp knife
Cut the cake into equal slices
Decorate each slice with chocolate syrup, frosting and cherries
Delicious home-made chocolate pastries are ready!
