Perumbavoor: The police have tightened the screws in the Jisha murder investigation by proving that the blood stains found on the recovered knife belonged to the victim.

The kitchen knife was found from a plot near Jisha’s house two days after the girl was found murdered and mutilated. The accused, Ameerul Islam, later told the police that he had chucked the weapon into the plot.

Initial examinations did not find the blood stains, but the police found the sample when they removed the handle of the knife.

The police have collected solid evidence against Ameer, including Jisha’s blood stains found on the knife and the slipper he threw away. Ameer’s blood stains were found on Jisha’s door and his saliva was present in a wound on Jisha’s shoulder.

The court has allowed defence counsel P. Rajan to meet the accused in jail at 4 pm on Tuesday.
