Riyas’ brand–new house at Koppam in Palakkad, Kerala could be termed an ‘intelligent’ abode that has been designed to suit the careers of the owners who work in the IT field.
It was during the lockdown period that the family left Bengaluru to settle in their hometown. The fact that they chose to work from home helped them oversee the construction of their dream dwelling. The structure has been designed to suit their ‘hybrid’ model lifestyle that allows them to balance work between home and office. A beautiful workspace has been arranged in the house. The box-shaped feature that looks prominent above the sit-out is in fact their home office. This area has been designed by ensuring privacy from the rest of the interiors. Interestingly, this space is also used as a study area for the kids.
The elevation of the house features the contemporary box style. Meanwhile, the car porch has been built in the detached style. The spacious front yard and the impressive landscaping complement the modern look of the elevation. Designed in 2900 sqft, this smart abode has a car porch, sit-out, living and dining areas, kitchen with a work area and two bedrooms on the ground floor. Meanwhile, the upper floor has a bedroom, office area and an open terrace too.
The family who had lived in a congested flat in Bengaluru had wished for spacious interiors that look and feel vaster.
The incredibly spacious living – dining area has a double height ceiling. This makes the interiors look amazingly open and vaster. Moreover, it grants a comfortable ambience to the interiors. A simple yet elegant staircase in steel and glass finish is what separates the living and dining areas. Lots of UPVC windows line the walls here to let in golden sunshine and cool breeze in abundance.
The custom-made furniture pieces perfectly fit the areas and gel well with the general theme of the house. A grand ‘L’ shaped couch is what adorns the formal living area. A TV unit too has been installed by highlighting the wall using elegant panelling works.
The bedrooms are spacious and have lots of storage spaces. The bath-attached bedrooms have in–built wardrobes too.
The compact kitchen has everything within the hand’s reach. The open kitchen faces the dining area. The serving counter has been turned into a breakfast spot by arranging a few high chairs. Riyas’ wife says that her kids like to enjoy their meals at this counter rather than sitting at the dining table.
The family is proud and happy that they got the perfect house that suits their unique lifestyle.
