In a recent interview with a popular daily, Rangoli, sister of Bollywood actress Kangana Raunat, opens up about the time she had faced an acid attack.
At age 23, Rangoli had undergone 57 surgeries after an over obsessed lover had thrown acid on her. She explained that acid permeates into the skin if untreated. If it is stronger, it destroys your organs. I was unable to breathe because my windpipe was shrinking. Scars were the last thing on my mind then. I didn’t have the courage to face a mirror for three months. I was shaken up. My prerogative was struggling for my life because both my food and wind pipe were severely damaged. I was in the hospital for a month and I underwent multiple surgeries.”
Rangoli lost an ear and 90% vision in one of her eyes. She also has dysfunctional breast.
Today, she manages Kangana’s work and has a family of her own. Kangana also told reporters that she would like to make film about her sister's life.
Salutes to Rangoli.
