Aranmula boat

Aranmula: Bodies of the two youths who went missing after a boat capsized in Pamba river on Sunday have been recovered.

The bodies of Vishnu and Rajeev Kumar, both hailing from Chengannur, were fished out from near Arattupuzha Monday night.

The bodies were found in a combined rescue operation by Navy and fire and rescue services personnel.

The youths went missing while upcoming Indian cricketer Karun Nair had a narrow escape as the snake boat in which around 100 persons were traveling, capsized in river Pampa in Aranmula. Karun Nair had a close shave as he was carried ashore in another boat.

The snake boat named Keezhcherimel Palliyodam was there to conduct a Vallasadya offered by Karun Nair. Vallasadya is a feast offered to the crew of large snake boats (palliyodams) by devotees.
