Kochi/Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala police team investigating the death of chartered accountant student Mishel Shaji has found out that her boyfriend Cronin Alexander Baby had send text messages to her phone after he came to know of her death.
The police believe that the accused sent her the messages to prove that he didn't have any animosity towards her and mislead the investigation.
Cronin, who is under arrest, had sent 12 SMS messages to the 18-year-old's phone even after learning about her death on March 6. The police after recovering the call history from Mishel’s phone had contacted Cronin in the afternoon of March 6. Cronin had also sent SMSes to Mishel's phone on March 7 and 8.

The SMSes were about their personal relationship, asking her "shouldn't we be together and why did you do this to me."
Cronin had sent around 89 messages during the two days (March 5 and March 6) to Mishel's phone. He erased all the other messages from his phone, but retained the last 12 SMSes he had sent to Mishel. Cronin then showed these messages to the police during questioning.
