Aluva: The blueprints of houses that are to be built by film actor Dileep along with Kerala Action Force and GP Charitable Trust under the 'Surakshitha Bhavanam' program are ready.
The earth-breaking ceremonies for the first house would be held on the first of Malayalam month, Chingam, at Vathikulam in Mavelikkara. The house would be given to Indira and her daughter Keerthi. The story of Indira and Keerthi was published in the Sunday supplement of Malayala Manorama on July 17. The decision to hand over the first house to them was taken then. Indira had saved the life of Keerthi 20 years ago and then adopted her.
Talking to Manorama, Dileep said that the house would be built with support from the local people. It would be completed three months after the start of construction. Each house would be 430 sq ft in area and would have two bedrooms, hall, kitchen and sit out. Cost of construction would be Rs 5.5 lakh.
The first house was planned to be delivered to the family of Suresh, who died in an accident in Aluva. However, the family does not have land and papers have been moved to provide the family with land.
Under the program, 1,000 houses would be constructed and those who apply need to have at least two cents of land in their name. Applications may be sent to Kerala Action Force, Anvar Memorial Hospital, Aluva-683 101
