Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Government has decided to rename the Dhanashree lottery to Sthree Sakthi lottery.
The government has decided to use the revenue from the lottery for women empowerment initiatives, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said on Wednesday.
Chandy was briefing mediapersons about the Cabinet decisions here.
The government will provide Rs 2000 as pension to all those diagnosed with sickle cell anaemia.
Honorarium for teachers and helpers at pre primary schools has been hiked. Teachers will be paid Rs 9,000 and helpers Rs 6,000.
The government has allotted Rs 4 lakh for Sruthi, a victim of spraying of endosulphan, to meet with her educational expenses.
Thirty-three unaided special schools with a strength of over 100 students will be made aided. Those who lost land for materialising the Haripad Medical College will be provided with job and land.
As many as 140 posts will be formed in excise department to increase women's representation.
The government has also decided to provide employment to those who won gold in team events.
