Mishel Shaji Kochi: In a new turn in the Mishel Shaji death case, a Kochi native on Tuesday said that he saw a woman resembling Mishel on the Goshree bridge here on March 5. The 18-year-old's body was found near the Ernakulam wharf the next day.
"I saw a woman walking on the bridge. I stopped the bike to attend a call and when I turned back, she was not to be found on the bridge," Puthuvaippu native Amal Wilfred told Manorama News on Tuesday.

"But I am not sure if she jumped off the bridge or whether she got into any other vehicle and left," he said.
"I checked with another biker passing by and he too denied seeing the woman. I did not see the girl jumping off the bridge. She was wearing a churidar," Amal said.
"I informed the police after I came across news reports of the CA student's death. But I am not sure if the woman I saw was indeed Mishel. It was dark," he said.

The police insist that the chartered accountancy aspirant had committed suicide but her relatives refused to buy the theory. They cite evidence to support their claim that there was no reason for the young woman to end her life. Cronin Alexander Baby, a relative of the girl, was arrested by the police Monday night. He was booked for abetment of suicide.
Mishel left her hostel room in Kochi on March 5. She was found dead the next day.
