The special branch of Railway Protection Force has launched a probe into alleged incidents of defacement of coaches with graffiti on trains passing through Kerala. It is suspected that "Rail Hoons", an international gang of graffiti artists, is behind the incidents.

» It is said that graffiti damage by 'Rail Hoons' on public properties and vehicles are common in foreign countries.
» They draw graffiti on buses, trains and bus shelters and buildings etc. They are particularly known for defacing rail properties.
» Two members of the gang caused $86,000 damage for graffiti ranging from 10cm tags to murals covering half a train in Brisbane in Australia, as per a news report in 2012.
