Google search is probably the most used and abused service online. People confidently key in their most bizarre doubts (the ones they dare not ask out loud) and the search giant hasn't disappointed even once.

How to build a house or a bomb – the questions that get thrown at Google are as weird as that. But there is this one instance when Google turned life savior.

A 24-year-old girl in Uttar Pradesh was heartbroken after her lover said no to marriage. She had no one to cry her heart out and decided to end her life. But how does one do that?

She did a Google search on 'ways to commit suicide.' The search giant, instead of answering her, gave her suicide prevention helpline numbers. The number she dialed connected to inspector-general of police Jitendra Kumar Shahi. She mustered up courage and narrated her predicament to the top cop.

The officer, taking note of the girl's state, organized counseling sessions and even called in the boy.

One search query was all that took to bring back this girl from the abyss of death and it's all thanks to Google!
