Kochi: Good news for parents in Kerala who are looking to send their kids to a recognized football academy in their area.
The Kerala Football Association (KFA), has come out with a mobile application – KFA Academy Connect - a first-of-its-kind in the country, to guide the parents who are in search of a proper platform for their children to hone their football skills.
The app will provide a comprehensive database of 75 academies and over 5,000 aspiring footballers registered with the Academy Connect program. The total number of the registered academies in the state and children currently undergoing training at these facilities is 172 and 8,000 respectively.
The app, which can be downloaded from the Google Play Store, will have details of their date of birth and matches played, among other personal information.
The app will be updated later by incorporating details of the remaining academies and players, KFA officials said.
Schedules and results of matches in the u-10, u-12, u-13, u-14 and u-16 age categories held across the state will also be available on the app, developed by the Bengaluru-based Addrush Sports Pvt. Ltd.
Constant monitoring of players from different age categories will help the parent body scout and unearth talents, the officials added.
The app was launched by KFA president K M I Mather at a function held in Kochi Tuesday. KFA general secretary Anil Kumar, Addrush director of operations Kush Bahuguna, and KFA marketing director Sudheer Menon spoke on the occasion.
