Kozhikode: Watford Reserves scored in stoppage time to hold Volyn Lutsk to a 1-1 draw and enter the semifinals of the 2016 Sait Nagjee Trophy here on Monday.
Heading into the last match in Group A, Lutsk needed a win to make it to the semis, while Watford needed just a point.
Veteran midfielder Serhiy Kravchenko gave the Ukrainian outfit an early lead in the 10 minute and they were on course to registering a narrow win. However, Lutsk conceded a penalty right at the death and young English striker Alex Jakubiak equalised from the spot to turn the tables.
Watford now join Atletico Paranaense Reserves in qualifying from Group A, and will play the winner of Group B in the semis.
