Doubts over Pakistan's participation has meant that the dates and venues for the World Cup are yet to be confirmed with just over three months left before the start of the tournament.
The move clears the way for Pakistan's participation in the subsequent 50-overs World Cup in India in October-November.
All the India games will be played in Sri Lanka, as will the final if they are involved.
The PCB wants its matches to be scheduled in Kolkata, Chennai and Bengaluru.
The BCCI has made it clear it will not support PCB chairman Najam Sethi's proposed hybrid model.
It has been learnt from ACC sources that PCB chairman Sethi's proposed hybrid model looks like a feasible solution although the ACC had made no formal statement.
Should India agree to the hybrid model for the Asia Cup, Sethi said, Pakistan would expect reciprocal terms for their team at the World Cup in October and November.
The former Scotland head coach has previously served as the fielding coach of the Pakistan side from 2018 to 2020 before a stint at their National Cricket Academy.
The tournament is likely to start with the England-New Zealand clash, also a rematch of the 2019 final, at the Narendra Modi Stadium on October 5.
India have ruled out travelling to Pakistan for the Asia Cup in September and are likely to play their matches at a neutral venue after organisers agreed on a 'hybrid' model - a move that looks likely to prompt a tit-for-tat response.
