Siddique submitted his resignation to the organisation's president, Mohanlal, via email.
"I am stepping down from the position in light of the allegations against me," he stated.
AMMA general secretary, Siddique, started the press meet brushing off the criticism that AMMA was maintaining a disturbing silence on the report.
He also said there is a false notion created by the media that the report is against AMMA and that the association is not in the dock.

Siddique stated that he decided to take action against those defaming Mohanlal by filing a case with the police, in his capacity as both a colleague and the leader of the AMMA organization.
The issue arose after Mohanlal’s recent visit to the landslide-hit areas of Wayanad on August 3.
The event, according to him, will be held jointly by the Kerala Film Producers Association (KFPA).
