Tried the chicken firecracker at Ramees Restaurant?

A chicken firecracker is not the the name of a new firecracker that has made its way to markets. It is chicken prepared in such a way that it would unleash an explosion of taste in your mouth. The recipe is very simple-almost similar to how you would make a firecracker. And this amazing recipe is what draws crowds of Ramees Restaurant at Chinnakada, Kollam. Mash up boneless chicken with garlic, ginger and green chilli. This 'gunpowder' is then rolled inside Pandan leaves in the shape of small crackers (yes, the local ones that look like samosas). The cracker then frolics in hot oil to come out crunchy and nice on the outside and explosive inside. This cracker is one of the favourites at 'Ramees Restaurant'. They also serve goat leg soup, grilled goat leg, a variety of chicken, fish and so on that find entry into the rolls of honour in the menu. In addition to the 320 dishes they already serve, one more item is set to make a grand entry; Prawn Jellikettu, which they claim is the 'prawn' version of chicken firecrackers. As in Jellikettu, it promises to be a show stopper, no bans, mind you. The Ramees Restaurant is about 45 years old. The hotel went into hiatus for about 10 years to bounce right back with a refurbished look and platter last year. The outlet at Chinnakada has exciting ambience and Arabia-inspired seating. The waiters come in Arabian costumes and remind you that food is not be eaten, it is to be enjoyed. **Where?** Chinnakada, Kollam
