New Delhi: Private carrier Jet Airways Tuesday said it would roll out a new daily flight to Dubai and also scale up frequency to Doha in its efforts to enhance connectivity to the Gulf from Kerala.

Besides, the carrier would also boost capacity to Kathmandu route with the introduction of additional flights to the Nepalese capital both from Delhi and Mumbai, starting October 30.

As part of its new winter schedule, Jet Airways will introduce additional frequencies to Kathmandu from Mumbai and New Delhi while strengthening its connectivity to the Gulf from Kerala, with daily flights to Dubai and Doha from Thiruvananthapuram, from October 30 as part of its new winter schedule, Jet Airways said in a release.

The additional flights to Kathmandu and the Gulf would facilitate a seamless transition onto Jet Airways' extensive domestic network and on-wards to other international destinations, it said.

Introduction of a second daily service between Mumbai- Kathmandu, will double its current capacity between the two cities, the airline said adding the capacity between Kathmandu and New Delhi would also be augmented with a new third daily service.

These additions would help Jet Airways enhance its connectivity to the SAARC region including countries such as Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, with 140 weekly flights, half of them to Nepal, the release said.

According to Jet Airways, Thiruvananthapuram will also see a major boost in connectivity as Jet Airways introduces a new daily flight to and from Dubai, and also upgrades the currently operated thrice a week frequency to Doha into a daily service.

"Jet Airways is pleased to introduce additional services to Kathmandu to meet the perennially high tourist demand. Likewise, traffic on the ever-popular Gulf routes continue to grow at a swift pace and we have taken progressive steps to boost capacity on the route," Jet Airways chief commercial officer Jayaraj Shanmugam said.

With these new additions, Jet Airways will operate over 600 weekly flights between India and 10 destinations in the Gulf, the release said.
