Rajagiri Basketball League: MOP Vaishnav College, Kerala Varma College emerge champions

Kochi: Bringing conclusion to an exhilarating season, the Rajagiri Basketball League (RBL) 2024 finales were held here in which the MOP Vaishnav College Chennai and Kerala Varma College Trissur emerged as champions in women men categories respectively.

Hosted by the Rajagiri College of Social Sciences (Autonomous), this season of RBL attracted elite squads from institutes across India battling for the ever-rolling trophy and cash bounty.

Along with the trophy, the winners were awarded Rs 15,000 and the runner-ups were given Rs 10,000.

Nivedha from MOP Vaishnav College Chennai and Chacko Simon from Kerala Varma College Trissur were crowned the 'Best Players', showcasing their exceptional skills on the court.

The RBL commenced on January 31 and concluded on February 3, featuring matches scheduled for both the morning and evening sessions. Started as Fr. Moses Memorial Ever-rolling Trophy Tournament, it was later rebranded to RBL with the purpose of celebrating and nurturing basketball talent across India.

The closing ceremony was a high-energy affair, kicked off by Pranav C Pramod, the Sports Secretary of RCSS. The valedictory function was graced by Shaju A U, a National Arm Wrestling Champion. Distinguished dignitaries, including Rev Dr Saju M.D CMI, Principal, Rev Dr Shinto Joseph CMI, Assistant Director, Dr Santhosh Kuriakose, Dr Jaya Vijayan, Shihabudeen, President of the Kerala Basketball Association, and Sunny, Lifetime President of the Kerala Basketball Association, adorned the dais.
