It's after a gap of 5 years that Mollywood's favourite on-screen pair, Dileep and Kavya Madhavan, has come together for Pinneyum directed by Adoor Gopalakrishnan.

In a recent interview with Malayala Manorama, the star pair talked about why the duo were not seen together for quite a long time.

According to the actors, Dileep and Kavya were waiting for the right script. Although the controversies surrounding the actors were painful, they never took a step back from working together thinking what people will say about it. The duo said that they are least worried about controversies and will continue acting together if the script satisfies them.

Dileep and Kavya also stated that they have never declared that they will not work together and have decided to ignore the rumours.

Ask Dileep about working with the veteran director, Dileep recalls how he went to meet Adoor Gopalakrishnan 18 years ago asking for a role.

''Ater Punjabi House, I met him and asked if I could avail an opportunity to work in his film and he asked me to wait. And after 18 years, Adoor sir himself called and said he wanted to meet me to check about a certain character that I could portray.''

Interestingly, Dileep also stated that Adoor watched most of his films prior to the meeting and among them CID Moosa was his favourite.
