Monsoon Mangoes trailer: Fahadh Faasil at his witty best A still from the video

Fahadh Faasil is back in town and in a very pleasant, witty manner. The trailer of his new, much-awaited movie Monsoon Mangoes is out. Going by the over 2-minutes video, the movie seems to be a highly promising one at it, filled with with fun.

The comedy entertainer narrates the story of amateur filmmaker DP Pallickal, played by Fahadh Faasil. Passionate about filmmaking, the role played by Fahadh claims he will be the next Steven Spielberg, but what he lacks is talent as a moviemaker.

He thinks his luck has changed when he meets an old, washed-out Hindi actor Prem Kumar (Vijay Raaz) and sets out to make an 'epic' Malayalam film with the help of an untalented and wacky mate, played by Vinay Forrt.

Their master plan soon fails as Prem Kumar’s drinking habit escalates and DP’s patience runs out. What happens next forms the crux of the movie.

Iswarya Menon, Tovino Thomas, Nandu, Sanju Sivaram, Jacob Gregory, Thampi Antony, Josekutty V and Sajini Sachariah play other pivotal roles in the movie.

Directed by debutant Abi Varghese, Monsoon Mangoes is expected to be a full-on entertainer by the New York-based filmmaker, who is known for his hit Malayalam sitcom Akkara Kazhchakal.

The film is slated to hit the screens by January 2016.
