Since 2016, Malayalam films have been making for a steady ascent, making for good collections at the Kerala box office.
The Prithviraj-starrer pavada that hit the screens on Friday has topped the box office by collecting 1.23 crore (approx.) on the first day of it's release. With positive reviews, Pavada is all set become the fourth consecutive hit for Prithviraj. The film by G. Marthandan is expected to continue the good run at the box office.
Meanwhile, Christmas releases, Charlie and Two Countries are still running successfully across theatres in the state.
Sources suggest that the Dileep starrer Two Countries has been witnessing housefuls and special shows. Due to heavy crowd, extra shows have been arranged, and the movie has grossed 17.8 crore in 20 days.
Meanwhile, Charlie, starring Dulquer Salmaan and Parvathy, minted 14.4 crore within 22 days of its release. The Dulquer-starrer which collected Rs 2 crore on the release day itself, has been getting tremendous response from movie-goers and critics alike and the team will have a success celebration on Friday, 22 January 2016 at UAE.
Interestingly, the Tamil movie Rajini Muragan has managed to get to the 4th place in Kerala box office. The movie starring Shivakarthikeyan and Keerthy Suresh has opened to positive responses in Kerala.
