Deepu Karunakaran’s ‘Karinkunnam 6S’, an Eid release, is an out-and-out sports movie about Vandana, a woman coach.

Manju Warrier plays the role of a female coach, while Anoop Menon plays the male lead. Other prominent actors include national award winning actor Sudev Nair, Babu Antony, Sunny Wayne and Sudheer Karamana. The scripting for the movie was done by Arunlal Ramachandran.

Here, Onmanorama puts together five reasons to watch this movie:

♦ Sports-centric story

After the successful run of 1986, here's another sports-centric movie to look forward to. The flick narrates the story of a volleyball team formed inside a prison.

♦ Volleyball theme

The movie takes focus out from the usual cricket theme. K6s is Mollywood's first movie on volleyball.

♦ Women protagonist

Manju Warrier has always astonished us with her choice of characters. Her comeback to the movie industry after 15 years, was with her splendid performance as Nirupama in the movie How Old Are You?, spreading a message to the society. This movie too has Manju taking the centrestage as 'Vandana', the volleyball coach, who motivates her team in their highs and lows. Manju was trained for K6s by S.T. Harilal, former coach of Indian Volleyball team.

♦ Inspiring

The film highlights the values of relationship and teamwork. It also underlines the need to fight one's past and come over all odds in life to be successful.
