Adding to the reports on chaos demonetization brought about in film industry, National Award-winning Malayalam director Siddharth Siva's latest movie Sakhavu, starring Nivin Pauly, has postponed its shoot due to the nonavailability of currency notes.
A 35 day-long shoot module of the movie was planned in Peerumedu starting from Friday.
A single day's shoot will cost as much as Rs 3,50,000. But the producer cannot withdraw more than Rs 24,000 from the bank per week in the present situation. Because of this, the crew has decided to postpone the shoot until the currency crisis ends, sources said.

Shooting of many upcoming Malayalam movies have been temporarily stopped due to the ongoing nonavailability of lower denomination currency notes.
Producers are gathering money from lenders and are running into debts for completing the projects which have already reached their final stage. Technicians and artists also hesitate to commit to new projects.
