At a time when patriotic fervor is often confused with jingoism and artists from neighboring countries are facing the heat in the country, a Facebook video by a Pakistani lass is making waves.
Nothing surprising about this except that the song she has chosen is from Premam, the blockbuster Mollywood hit starring Nivin Pauly and Sai Pallavi.
Incidentally, Sai Pallavi, a Tamil, had floored Mallus with her portrayal of 'Malar', one of the three female leads in the movie.
Premam's blockbuster success has led to its Telugu off-shoot, but no one thought it would again break the internet with a Pakistani rendition.
Nazia Amin Mohammad, who hails from Karachi is a 'passionate vocalist and business development executive', as per her Facebook profile.
"Since I have met so many friends from Kerala, India, it's my wish to dedicate a 'Malayali' song for all of you," Nazia says in the beginning of the video.
She also apologizes for probable errors that could creep up in pronunciation.
And what follows is a sweet and soft rendering of the song which you would love to listen to again and again.
The video was shared on a page named 'Mannum Manushyanum'.
Then it has been picked up by movie buffs and shared by over 2,000 people. It is also getting hundreds of appreciative comments.
Nazia's video has now crossed 704K views.
