High quality copies of some of the year's most anticipated movies have begun leaking to torrent sites.
Screeners of The Hateful Eight starring Samuel L. Jackson and Kurt Russell and Leonardo DiCaprio's The Revenant leaked before their theatrical release, with one prominent piracy group now promising to leak dozens more in the days to come.
TorrentFreak, which tracks news about copyright, piracy and firesharing, reported that high-quality copies of both films have begun circulating around the web ahead of their Christmas Day theatrical bows.
This is yet another roadblock for Tarantino, whose Hateful Eight script leaked online last year.
This has become common in piracy circles in recent years during 'Oscar screener season'.
Ellen DeGeneres, last year’s Academy Awards host, was linked to a leaked screener of The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. More recently, The Expendables 3 starring Sylvester Stallone leaked online three weeks ahead of the US premiere.
