There were reports galore of Mani Ratnam having roped in Sai Pallavi to play the female lead in his next Tamil venture along with Karthi. The media celebrated the fact that the ace director was charmed by the Tamil girl who took the Malayalam industry by storm with her debut film Premam.
However, the latest buzz is that Sai Pallavi will be giving the Mani Ratnam film a miss. The reason being, she isn't too comfortable with the intimate scenes with Karthi scripted in the film. It's also said that her character required a more matured persona.
It's also been said that replacing her would be a model-turned-actress from Mumbai.
The film would start rolling from September. The music would be done by the Mani Ratnam regular A.R. Rahman, and Ravi Varman would be the cinematographer.
