Sandra Thomas and Vijay Babu. File photosKochi: Two days have passed after actor-producer Sandra Thomas filed a complaint of assault against her business partner-actor Vijay Babu and the Kochi police are yet to take any action.
The police have not even taken the customary steps that are to be followed in an assault case, Manorama News reported. The police were hoping that Sandra and Vijay Babu would iron out the differences between them but that has not happened yet.
Talks for a compromise, mediated by a popular young actor, failed to reach a consensus, the report added.
Police say that Vijay Babu, who took to Facebook on January 3 to claim that a fake case was registered against him by his 'most trusted partner' Sandra and her husband Wilson John Thomas, continues to remain elusive.
The police have recorded Sandra's statement but are yet to take statement of Vijay Babu, whose whereabouts are unknown. His mobile number is switched off as well.
Even though the police have registered a case against Vijay Babu under non-bailable offense, no action has been taken so far, sources said.
Sandra had lodged a complaint, saying Vijay Babu kicked her in front of her husband in their office on Tuesday. Sandra is now recuperating in a private hospital in Kochi.
Sandra Thomas and Vijay Babu have produced hit Malayalam films like Philips and the Monkey Pen, Adi Kapyare Kootamani, Mudhugauv among others.
