SP Balasubrahmanyam is awake and responsive but continues to be on ventilator

Singer SP Balasubrahmanyam, who tested positive for the novel coronavirus, is currently stable and responsive for the treatement.

According to the latest press release, he continues to be on ventilator and ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) support. He is being closely monitored by the doctors at the MGM Healthcare Hospital in Chennai.

According to the hospital's health bulletin, SP Balasubrahmanyam actively participates in physiotherapy as well.

The press statement read, "Thiru SP Balasubrahmanyam who had been admitted due Covid-19 at MGM Healthcare continues to be on ventilator and ECMO support in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). His current clinical condition is stable. He is fully awake, responsive and actively participates in physiotherapy. He continues to be closely monitored by our multidisciplinary clinical team."

SP Balasubrahmanyam's son SP Charan also released a video stating that his father is responding for the treatment well. He thanked fans for their prayers and said that SPB will be out of this situation soon. "I am hoping that my father will be out of this situation soon because of all your prayers. He is stable and responding for the treatment well."

He also added that his mother Savitri, who was recently tested positive for coronavirus, is doing well and under medications.
