Fafda is a fried crispy snack that is highly addictive and scrumptious. It's popularly paired with sweet jilebis to relish a sweet-sour combo as breakfast in states like Gujarat. It's also known as vanva and can be stored for up to a week after preparation.
Ingredients
2 cups of gram flour
Salt (mixed with water; as required)
Oil (as required for frying)
Black salt and pepper powder (as required)
Preparation
Make a tight dough by mixing the gram flour with water and keep it aside
Now, break the dough into small pieces, make it soft by hitting it using a grinding stone, and make small balls out of it
Dust these balls with some maida flour and flatten each one of them by rolling
Cut them into three-inch long stripes and one-inch wide stripes each and deep fry the same in hot oil
To make it spicy, drop some salt and pepper over it and serve
