LDF, bar lobby behind Sarita's charges: KC Joseph K.C. Joseph

Kannur: Rural Development Minister K.C. Joseph on Wednesday alleged that there was conspiracy behind latest charges raised by Solar scam accused Saritha S. Nair against Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and Electricity Minister Aryadan Mohammed. The minister indirectly hinted that bar owners had a role in the conspiracy.

Saritha's latest revelation, which she had never revealed earlier, was dubious. There is a plot behind it. Those who received a setback due to the government's liquor policy and those who stand to gain from the government's downfall had a role in the conspiracy.

The basic issue behind all allegations against the government is the liquor policy. The bar owners have incurred losses that run into crores of rupees. As Supreme Court verdict also went against them, the only way before the bar owners was the change of guard at State capital. All allegations are part of this, K.C. Joseph said.

The minister also said that it was the conspiracy between the LDF and the liquor lobby that was behind all allegations against the government.

The statements of CPM politburo member Pinarayi Vijayan and CPI State secretary Kanam Rajendran that the liquor policy could be changed if the LDF comes to power were proof of the unholy nexus between the LDF and the liquor lobby.
