Kochi: Ideas generated at Manorama Media Hackathon at Kochi could get a chance to be presented in New Delhi at the 'Hack for India' event.

Twenty ideas selected from Hackathon events held in 14 cities would be presented at the Hack for India final events. The announcement was made by IAMAI representative Ishan Tripati.

Winners at the final event in Delhi would win Rs 5 lakhs. Further, they can also receive support from technical experts who have proven their mettle.

The Hack for India competitions are being conducted by Internet and Mobile Association of India, Department of Science and Technology and Mobile 10 in association with Google, Facebook, Paytm, VMax and so on. The media Hackathon in Kochi is part of 'Techspectations,' a digital summit being conducted to commemorate 20 years of ManoramaOnline. Out of the 200 people registered online, about 28 contestants would participate in the competition. Three finalists would have a chance to present their ideas before an invited audience. The three winners would receive Rs 2 lakhs, Rs 1.5 lakhs and Rs 1 lakh as prizes respectively.

Akamai, AWS Activate, Mobile 10 and Youtube are partners of Techspectations. HiFX IT and Media Services are the scientific partners to the program and Skyline is the main sponsor.
