With winter knocking at the door, it’s getting colder outside and that can be bad news for our skin. So, it’s high time we gave our skin some extra love. Here, Disha Meher, skin and nail expert of Lakme Salon, presents you a simple cheat sheet that will put an end to all your skin problems during winter.
- 1. Dehydration
If your skin looks patchy, it is definitely getting dehydrated and dry. The moisture level of your skin is decreasing because of reduced sebum. A white tea skin treatment will help, as it has antioxidant properties to nourish your skin and restore its vital moisture content.
- 2. Cracked feet
The superficial or deep fissures on the heels make your feet very rough. Moisturize your feet regularly and avoid remaining barefoot. Apply a special feet cream and wear socks while sleeping.
- 3. Lifeless and sallow skin
Your skin might lose its luster and look lifeless during winter. The skin's acid mantle is affected and hence the skin's moisture and oil balance is disturbed. Massage your skin with Argan oil before sleeping to maintain the necessary levels of collagen in your skin.
- 4. Sensitivity
Redness and inflammation are usually out of sensitivity that occur due to changes in the weather condition. Choose your products very carefully and moisturize you skin regularly to combat sensitivity. You can also try a soothing facial that will restore your skin's pH levels.
- 5. Chapped lips
Another common problem people face during winter is chapped lips. Applying coconut oil on lips can help cure cracked lips. Lip balm made of pure beeswax and a lip scrub made of olive oil and sugar are two of the popular natural remedies for chapped lips. Avoiding lip-licks is very important. Almond oil and medical lip balms can also be used.
