Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Governor P Sathasivam launched a website featuring women writers from the state to mark the International Women's day.

The website 'Women writers of Kerala' will be helpful to students who are interested in research on the works of women writers, a government press release said.

Dr Sreedevi K Nair is the website's editor.

This is for the first time in the country that such a website 'womenwritesrofkerala.com' has been launched.

The website's aim was to give voice to women Malayalam writers.

The women's day was also celebrated by state women's commission by taking pledge on equality. Cash prizes were also distributed to winners of various programmes.

International Women's day was celebrated at Kudumbashree Community college by honouring six tribal women and college website launch.
