Thiruvananthapuram: Police probe into the murder of a 19-year-old Pettah resident at his girlfriend's house in the neighbourhood is now focusing on phone calls made to the house of the victim, Anish George, a little before his death. The police is examining all calls made by before and after the murder by persons connected with the incident.

The investigators have decided to examine all angles though Anish's family members claimed that it was a premeditated murder, whereas the accused initially defended himself saying that he had thwarted an intruder into the house at the dead of the night.

Manorama News has received evidence regarding phone calls made by the girl’s mother to the murdered youth's mother

shortly before the murder in the wee hours of Monday. The call records reveal that shortly before the murder at 3.20 am the accused Simon Lalu’s wife Asha had called on the phone of Anish’s mother Dolly. However, Dolly, who was asleep, didn't pick up the phone. Calls came from the same number again at 4.22am and then at 4.27am.

At 4.29am Dolly called back Asha and mysteriously enquired about her son. In reply Dolly asked her to enquire with the police.

The police is examining the claim of Anish’s family members that he was summoned to the girl’s house and then murdered.

They alleged that Simon Lalu was furious after he came to know that Anish along with his wife and daughter had visited a shopping mall in the city the previous day and that could be the reason behind the murder.

Anish’s phone was recovered by the police from the house where the murder took place. The bereaved family said the call records would prove he was indeed called to Lalu's house.
