SilverLine survey disrupted in Nattassery, case against 105 protesters

Kottayam: The survey process of the SilverLine Project was disrupted in Nattassery in Kerala's Kottayam district for the third consecutive day.
The officials who arrived at the Nattassery ward of Vijayapuram panchayat with a huge police contingent was met with massive protest on Thursday.
The authorities arrived at the site expecting activists and protesters to be in Thiruvananthapuram for the Secretariat protest.
The police have registered a case against 105 individuals for preventing the officials from fulfilling their duty. Municipal Councillors, locals and political activists are among those who disrupted the survey process.
Meanwhile, K-rail is planning to restart the survey in Kottayam's Sankrathi Kuzhiyalappadi.
Officials have reached the site with the boundary stones. A large number of policemen have been dispatched to the location. Locals in the region have informed that they will continue their agitation against the survey.
The protests against the semi-high-speed rail project which intensified this week will continue in Ernakulam, Kozhikode, and Malappuram on Thursday.
SilverLine Virudha Janakeeya Samithi would hold a "Secretariat march' in Thiruvananthapuram at 11 am simultaneous to Pinarayi-Modi meet today. Social activist Medha Patkar will inaugurate the march.
As a mark of protest UDF MPs from Kerala are holding a dharna in front of the Gandhi Statue in Parliament on Thursday.
The Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) on its part will officially unveil its agitation plan against the project on Thursday.
