Actor Shine Tom Chacko’s father, C P Chacko, died in a road accident near Bengaluru on Friday morning. Shine, along with his mother, brother, and the actor's assistant manager, sustained injuries and was rushed to the hospital soon after the crash.

The accident occurred around 7 am near Palakottai, near Dharmapuri in Tamil Nadu, while the family was travelling by car. According to eyewitnesses, the vehicle rammed into a lorry in front of them. All five passengers were injured in the incident.

Despite being taken to the hospital immediately, C P Chacko succumbed to his injuries. They were travelling to Bengaluru from Kerala.

The body of Chacko has been shifted to the mortuary of the Government Hospital, Dharmapuri. Other injured family members were given first aid at a private hospital at Palakottai and then taken to the Government Hospital, Dharmapuri.

Images showed the hood of the MPV in which the actor and the family were travelling was completely mangled under the impact of the crash.
