Kollam: The police are in no mood to relax after the conviction of Aadu Antony in a case related to the murder of a policeman at Parippally 10 years ago. The focus now shifts to the convict’s wives, who were living with him in a rented house at Prasanth Nagar at Ulloor in Thiruvananthapuram at the time of the murder.

Antony’s wives, Susie alias Susan, Sreekala and Girija, were accused in the case initially but their names were omitted from the chargesheet for want of solid evidence. They had been accused of helping Antony flee after stabbing the policeman on June 26, 2006.

The police said that the women lived with Antony knowing perfectly well that he was a thief. They were leading a luxurious lifestyle with the loot.

Antony had gone straight to his Ulloor house after stabbing Maniyan Pillai. He went into hiding along with Susan. They were together for seven months, the police said.

Antony took as wife Susan’s daughter Sreekala too and sired her child. Both the women helped him get married for a third time, this time to Girija from Kollam.

If the murder case was investigated by a special team led by the district crime branch, the role of the wives were probed by the Paravur Circle Inspector and team.

The police have recovered looted objects worth about Rs 50 lakh from Antony’s rented house in Chennai. These were brought back to Kollam but the police have not yet located their rightful owners. The Circle Inspector is also in charge of retracing the theft cases.

District Crime Branch Superintendent of Police Jayasankar is monitoring the case. The police plan to make Antony’s wives accused in the case if they come across relevant evidence.
