Chalakudy: Kerala police investigating the unnatural death of actor Kalabhavan Mani have decided to subject six persons, including the actor’s manager and driver, to a lie-detector test in Bengaluru.
Mani died on March 6 in a hospital after a marathon party in his farm house at Chalakkudy along with friends. Though conspiracy theories flew thick and fast, the police were left clueless whether the actor was murdered or he committed suicide.
The probe was handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) after Mani’s relatives petitioned Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan but the central agency is yet to start the process.

Mani’s manager Joby, driver Peter and aide Vipin along with Anish, Murukan and Arun will have to undergo polygraph tests as and when the lab in Bengaluru directs them.
Vipin is a relative of Mani’s wife. The police had asked the magistrate for permission to subject them to a lie-detector test.
