Thiruvananthapuram: Advocate B.A. Aloor, who represented accused Govindachamy in the Soumya murder case, will now appear for Ameer ul-Islam, accused in the sensational Jisha murder case.
The Ernakulam principal sessions court has approved Ameer's plea seeking permission to replace the government counsel with Aloor.
Aloor's earlier attempt to speak to Ameer and make him sign the petition went in as it required special permission to visit the accused.

Aloor hogged headlines after the Supreme Court recently commuted the death sentence of Govindachamy, a Tamil Nadu native, accused in the Soumya rape-murder case.
Jisha, a dalit law student, was found dead at her house at Perumbavoor in Ernakulam district on April 28. The police arrested Ameer from Tamil Nadu 50 days after the murder.
Jisha, who hailed from a poor family, was brutally assaulted using sharp-edged weapons before being murdered.
