Kollam: A Kerala police sub-inspector here, who received a complaint filed by Youth Congress activists that actor-turned M. Mukesh MLA was missing, has been transferred.
Kollam city police commissioner S. Satheesh Benoy issued an order transferring West station SI N. Gireesh to the crime branch as a disciplinary action.

Special branch assistant commissioner Rex Bobby Arvin had found that Gireesh's act of accepting the complaint was improper and recommended action against him.
Youth Congress Kollam assembly constituency committee had filed a man missing complaint in a bid to mock the MLA.
In a tit-for-tat, Mukesh retorted that he had gone to join 'Rahul Club', taking a jibe at Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi, who went on a long sabbatical abroad last year.
Legal experts suggested that the SI's decision to accept the complaint was in violation of the section 57 of the Kerala Police Act that lists out the circumstances under which a station house officer can receive a man missing complaint.
