Argentina and Uruguay will renew their rivalry as the South American giants face off in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier Thursday (Friday 4.30 am IST).
The match at the Estadio Malvinas Argentinas in Mendoza, Argentina, will be telecast live on Sony ESPN and Sony ESPN HD.

Uruguay are leading the table on goal difference ahead of Ecuador (both have 13 points from 6 games). Argentina are in the third spot with 11 points.
This will be Argentina's first first competitive match since their loss to Chile in Copa America Centenario final in June.
Lionel Messi’s return to the national squad is in doubt as owing to a sore hamstring. The Barcelona talisman had decided to retire from international football after the shoot-out loss to Chile. However, new Argentina coach Edgardo Bauza succeeded in convincing Messi to reverse his decision.
On the other hand Uruguay boss Oscar Tabarez will be keen to put his side back to winning ways after a disastrous campaign in the Copa America. Messi’s Barcelona teammate Luis Suarez is fully fit and his return will be a huge boost for Uruguay.
