Leaders of the Congress and other parties had been pressing the Centre to cancel the Class 12 board exams in view of the COVID situation in the country.
After seeking the opinions of the state governments, the Education Ministry is expected to announce its decision on June 1.
The evaluation of the fifth semester exams in the polytechnic colleges, that were conducted, would be held soon.
Students from class 1 to 8 are being promoted, as per the Right to Education Act, and class 9 students due to the Covid situation.
These institutions include all IITs, NITs, IIITs and central universities.
The CBSE has also warned schools against indulging in unfair and biased practices for assessment or they will have to face penalty or disaffiliation.
All examinations, except the final year exams, have been postponed to June by by the University Governing Council on Wednesday giving solace to the students and teachers.
The written exams for SSLC students will end on Thursday.
The CA Final exam was scheduled to start on May 21 whereas the Inter exam was scheduled to begin on May 22.
The Kerala Public Service Commission (PSC) has decided to conduct tests for appointments to five posts in online mode.
