The 100th day will perhaps witness the largest gathering of agitating fisherfolk on land and sea at two points along the Thiruvananthapuram coast; at Vizhinjam and Muthalapozhi, both 40 kilometres apart.

They are apparently seeking the damages to recover losses suffered by the company during the fisherfolk’s protests against the Vizhinjam project.

An order was issued on October 6 constituting a four-member Expert Committee to study the impact of the port construction on the coast.
The Adani Ports, which is constructing the Vizhinjam port in Thiruvananthapuram had on August 25, moved the Kerala High Court seeking protection from protesters.
The HC had earlier asked the state to offer police protection to Adani Ports for completion of the project.
