Prithviraj Sukumaran's latest horror thriller Ezra, which was released on Friday, has opened to positive responses.
The directorial debut of Jay K has reportedly earned Rs 2.61 crore gross in Kerala (share apprx Rs 1.24 Cr). Interestingly, Ezra is Prithviraj's best opening and 4th best opening movie in Malayalam. The movie collected Rs 16.82 lakh from multiplexes in Kochi alone with an occupancy of about 98 percent on the opening day.
The film had 55 shows in Kochi multiplexes alone on day one.
Ezra now has to its credit the third highest first day occupancy after Dulquer Salmaan’s Kali (99.08%) and Mohanlal’s Pulimurugan (98.71%).
Sources said almost all shows of Ezra in multiplexes across Kerala is sold out for this weekend.
Meanwhile, Prithviraj on Saturday took to Facebook to thank everyone for the success of the movie. He has also requested movie-goers not to spoil the suspense of the film.
