Kunal Kapoor is Chandu Chekavar in Jayaraj's next Kunal Kapoor will play Chandu Chekavar in Jayaraj's 'Veeram'

National award winning director Jayaraj who has often surprised audience with his choice of actors has roped in a Bollywood star for his next flick.

Rang De Basanti fame Kunal Kapoor will be seen as Chandu Chekavar, a character from the folklore of Kerala's Malabar region, in Jayaraj's trilingual movie Veeram. The shooting for the film has begun.

Kunal who has been undergoing training in Kalaripayattu, recently got bruised while performing a fighting sequence. The actor himself has shared a photo of this on Facebook. An adaptation of Shakespeare's play 'Macbeth' and the latest in Jayaraj's Navarasa series, the film revolves around Kalaripayattu, a martial art form of Kerala.

The major locations for the shooting are in Thiruvananthapuram, Aurangabad and Agra. The movie will be filmed simultaneously in Malayalam, Hindi and English.
